Grace Bernal’s California Style: Variegated

Autumn season has kicked in and the plaid pieces are back! The multicolored checkers look cool because they are just that. We have a hint of the 80s MOD look going this new season and let’s face it that era was nothing but cool. You either wear the entire plaid suit or break it up as you go. And as the season moves forward more plaid will be added. If you’re a boy going to homecoming and want to play with plaid you can definitely try the entirety of a suit or break it up with just the pants, a shirt, and tie/bowtie. Also, to add a pop of different wear sneakers with your suit or dressy pants. It’s always fun to see kids be more daring and change up fashion. The plaid skirt looks good by itself, and lets not forget the plaid blazer which can be worn with anything including  “denim!” And, if you add the big shoulders to the blazer you’re really going back to the 80s. There’s going to be plenty of plaid around so take your pick and go with it. After all, plaid is just a pattern and dressing the mind can be boring therefore, why not dress yourself? Add your scarves to plaid if it happens to get chilly and a fun tote.  The variegated plaids in all the different colors is going to be for a stunning observation this season.

“I’ve always worn a lot of Ralph Lauren, and plaid shirts in general have been a signature piece for me. With plaid, you can look super-relaxed or you can look a bit dressed up.” Avicii
