Nursall Seeking District 2 Berth On Rancho Cucamonga City Council

Joanne Nursall said her religious conviction is the primary motivating factor in her run for city council representing District 2 in Rancho Cucamonga.
“I am running for city council because God put it in my heart to be more involved in my city to make a positive difference,” she said.
Nursall is running against the incumbent, Kristine Scott, and another challenger, David VanGorden.
Nursall said, “I feel I am qualified simply because I am a citizen of Rancho Cucamonga and care about the quality and integrity of the city.”
“Among the major issues in the city right now is overdevelopment, Nursall said. “The city is becoming extremely overcrowded and with overcrowding comes more crime. To redress these issues, we must listen and communicate with the citizens, our taxpaying citizens who deserve to be heard and deserve to live in a safe and clean community.”
Rancho Cucamonga is currently generating enough municipal revenue to provide the means to address the challenges facing the city, Nursall said.
“The city receives tax dollars that are meant to take care of the city,” she said. “We must support local and small businesses so our city can continue to serve its citizens.”
Nursall emphasized, “I am not a politician,” but noted, “I have served on the Fontana school board in the past.”
Nursall has lived in Rancho Cucamonga since 1999.
She is a graduate of Don Antonio Lugo High School in Chino.
“My higher education is the school of hard knocks and reality,” Nursall said. “I also attended a trade school and received and still maintain a cosmetology license, and made a living with it.”
She was formerly the proprietor of A Kid’salon in Rancho Cucamonga. She now describes herself as “a housewife. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 37 years. Together we have raised three children to become outstanding, responsible adults. We love and enjoy three beautiful grandchildren.”
Nursall said, “Not only have I lived and worked in Rancho Cucamonga, I know what it’s like to own a small business in this city. I am a very strong-willed, determined person who, when I believe in something, will fight 100 percent for what I believe. I rely on my faith in Jesus Christ to always guide me and protect me.”
